This course equips learners with a range of practical skills essential for childcare and au pair roles. Participants will gain skills in understanding and supporting child development across physical, cognitive, emotional, and social stages. They will learn to apply basic health, hygiene, and safety practices, including childproofing and accident prevention. Skills in nutrition planning, preparing balanced meals, and encouraging healthy eating habits are developed. Learners will also acquire effective communication techniques for engaging with children of different ages, as well as positive discipline strategies for managing behavior.
Learners will be able to provide safe, nurturing, and professional childcare services in both home and au pair environments. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to understand and support children’s developmental needs, ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards, and plan age-appropriate activities that promote learning and growth. They will confidently communicate with children and parents, apply positive behavior management, and prepare nutritious meals that meet dietary needs. Learners will also develop cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and organizational skills necessary for integrating into diverse family settings. Equipped with interview and placement readiness, graduates will be prepared to succeed as competent au pairs or childcare professionals locally and internationally.
