Participants will develop the ability to: Perform primary assessment and ensure scene safety. Apply the principles of basic life support (BLS) including CPR and use of an AED. Control bleeding and manage shock. Provide first aid for fractures, sprains, and dislocations. Recognize and respond to burns, scalds, and wound care. Manage choking in adults, children, and infants. Provide first aid for medical emergencies (e.g., heart attack, stroke, asthma, epilepsy, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies). Safely position and transport casualties when required. Use first aid equipment effectively and maintain personal safety.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to: Demonstrate confidence in assessing emergency situations and ensuring safety of self and others. Apply appropriate first aid techniques for life-threatening conditions, including CPR and AED use. Provide effective care for injuries such as bleeding, burns, fractures, and soft tissue damage. Recognize signs and symptoms of common medical emergencies and deliver suitable first aid responses. Manage choking incidents in different age groups effectively. Use first aid equipment correctly and maintain readiness for emergencies. Support casualty comfort and safety until professional medical help arrives. Understand legal, ethical, and personal responsibilities as a first aider.
