Recognising potential security threats (unauthorized access, suspicious activity, smuggling, terrorism). Awareness of security levels and what changes at each level. Reporting procedures – who to inform and how to escalate concerns. Access control basics – checking IDs, monitoring restricted areas. Personal security awareness – staying alert and reducing risks. Emergency response awareness – knowing what to do in drills or real incidents.
By the end of this course, you will be able to, Explain the purpose of the ISPS Code and why port security is important. Identify common security threats and risks to port facilities. Describe the different security levels and what they mean in practice. Recognise suspicious behavior, activities, or items within the port area. Follow correct procedures for reporting security concerns. Assist in maintaining access control and protecting restricted areas. Respond appropriately during security drills and actual security incidents.
