By completing this course, participants develop the ability to: Understand the basic chemistry and physics of natural gas and liquefaction, including methane behavior and cryogenic temperatures Identify and explain the four stages of the LNG value chain: Upstream, Liquefaction, Shipping, and Regasification Recognize major LNG technologies and processes, including liquefaction trains, storage systems, shipping vessels, and regasification units Interpret commercial and market dynamics, including LNG pricing models, contract structures, exporters, and importers Appreciate LNG safety principles, operational risk controls, and future energy pathways such as bio‑LNG, marine fuel, and hydrogen integration
At the end of this course, participants will be able to: Clearly explain what LNG is and why liquefaction is critical for global gas trade Describe how LNG solves the “stranded gas” problem and enables long‑distance energy transport Understand the technical, logistical, and commercial structure of the LNG industry from wellhead to end‑user Demonstrate awareness of global LNG markets and pricing mechanisms, including oil‑indexed and hub‑based pricing Recognize regional LNG and FLNG opportunities, particularly in Suriname and the Caribbean energy context Gain confidence to engage in LNG‑related discussions across technical, commercial, and strategic levels
