The First Aid at Work course covers essential lifesaving skills including how to assess an emergency situation, perform CPR, use an AED, and manage unconscious casualties. Learners gain hands-on skills in treating wounds, bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, choking, and medical conditions such as seizures, strokes, and heart attacks. The course also teaches how to manage incidents, maintain hygiene, record/report accidents, and understand the responsibilities of a workplace first aider. Emphasis is placed on calm, confident response in high-pressure situations, ensuring learners can act effectively until professional medical help arrives.
By the end of the First Aid at Work course, learners will be able to assess emergency situations and respond appropriately, perform CPR and use an AED, manage unconscious casualties, and treat common workplace injuries such as bleeding, burns, fractures, and shock. They’ll understand how to manage incidents involving choking, seizures, heart attacks, and strokes. The course also covers recording incidents and understanding legal requirements. Participants will develop confidence to act promptly and safely in high-pressure scenarios, promoting faster recovery and minimising risk. Skills learned ensure compliance with Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
