Participants will develop basic knowledge of the human musculoskeletal system and gain an understanding of common orthopaedic conditions such as fractures, joint disorders, and spinal issues. They will learn the principles behind common orthopaedic procedures, including bone repair, joint replacement, and immobilisation techniques, as well as post-operative care considerations. The course also enhances their ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals regarding orthopaedic treatment and recovery processes.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify basic orthopaedic conditions and understand the purpose of common surgical and non-surgical interventions. They will be able to describe key stages of orthopaedic treatment and recovery, demonstrate improved awareness of patient needs during rehabilitation, and apply this knowledge to support better communication and care within healthcare or community settings.
